Account and Sign-In

I forgot my password, what should I do?

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" to request a reset link to your registered email. If you used Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, follow that provider's own password recovery process.

Can I sign in with the same account on multiple devices?

Yes. You can stay signed in simultaneously on iPhone, iPad, and (in the future) Android devices using the same email or Apple/Google account. Your garage, forum, and messages sync across all devices.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account:

  • From within the app: Profile screen β†’ Account Settings β†’ tap "Delete Account." Your account is immediately deactivated and all data is irretrievably deleted within 30 days.
  • By email: Send a request from your registered email address to support@tclabs.app.

Garage and Vehicles

My car's brand isn't on the list β€” what can I do?

Currently supported brands: BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Renault. To request a new brand, write to support@tclabs.app. The most-requested brands (Hyundai, Skoda, Kia, Peugeot) are on our roadmap.

How many vehicles can I add to my garage?

No limit. You can add as many vehicles as you wish.

Is my license plate visible to others?

No. License plate is shown only on your device, only on garage cards you view yourself. It is not shared in forums or messages.

I selected the wrong engine name or year β€” how do I fix it?

Tap your vehicle in the garage and use the "Edit" option to update the fields.

Forum and Community

My forum question isn't appearing β€” what happened?

Forum threads are grouped by engine. Threads for the engine you posted about appear in their own pool. Use Garage > Your Vehicle > "Forum" tab to see threads specific to that engine. If it still doesn't appear within minutes, contact support@tclabs.app.

How do I report a user posting profanity / spam?

Long-press the relevant thread or reply and use "Report." You can also email support@tclabs.app with a link. Content violating our community rules is reviewed within 24 hours.

I want to report a chronic issue β€” how?

On the Chronic Issues screen, tap "+ Report New Issue." Reports go through admin approval before being added to the database; this process can take 1-3 days.

Notifications and Ads

How do I turn off notifications?

Go to iOS Settings β†’ CarFix β†’ Notifications to disable all notifications. Per-category disable (forum reply, followed issue, etc.) inside the app is coming soon.

I see too many ads β€” can I remove them?

The current version shows only banner ads; full-screen ads are not active. A Premium subscription with ad-free experience may be offered later, but currently no such option exists.

I don't want personalized ads β€” how do I turn them off?

Go to iOS Settings β†’ Privacy & Security β†’ Tracking and disable CarFix's permission. You will then see non-personalized ads.

Data Privacy

Can I download my data?

Yes β€” under KVKK and GDPR you have the right to request a copy of your data. Email support@tclabs.app from your registered email address; you will receive a JSON export within 30 days.

How long are my data retained after I delete my account?

Following an account deletion request, user data (profile, garage, posts, messages) are permanently deleted within 30 days. Logs that must be retained for legal reasons (e.g., abuse audits) are kept anonymously.

Are my data stored outside TΓΌrkiye?

Yes. Because we use Google Cloud infrastructure, data are processed in European data centers (primary region: europe-west). See the Privacy Policy for details.

Technical Issues

The app won't open / keeps crashing β€” what should I do?

First, fully close the app and reopen it. If the problem persists:

  • Update iOS to the latest version (iOS 16+ supported)
  • Update the app from the App Store
  • If still problematic, write to support@tclabs.app with your device model, iOS version, and app version. Your device automatically reports crashes to Crashlytics; we can review these reports.
Push notifications aren't arriving

Ensure iOS Settings β†’ CarFix β†’ Notifications is enabled. Also check that notifications are turned on in the in-app Account Settings section. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the app.

Image won't upload (profile photo)

Make sure iOS Settings β†’ CarFix β†’ Photos permission is set to "All Photos" or at least "Selected Photos." Photos larger than 5 MB are automatically resized.
